Week 1 Rankings Posted

The Mid-Atlantic Robotics 2014 FRC season- Aerial Assist- is underway!  Congratulations to all 78 teams that competed at Hatboro-Horsham and Mt. Olive- the first week of any new season brings some start-up challenges, and we may have gotten more than our share this year.  Despite technical problems and the threat of nasty weather, our event coordinators and volunteers got the job done.

MAR teams are competing to earn one of 55 slots at our District Championship at Stabler Arena, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.  Those teams will compete for one of 18 MAR slots at the FRC World Championship in St. Louis.  MAR’s CMP slots will be allocated as follows

Chairman’s Award                                                   2 teams

Engineering Inspiration Award                           2 teams

Rookie All-Star Award                                            1 team

District CMP Winning Alliance                             3 teams

Next Highest ranked teams (not including    10 teams
those listed above)

The slots for our 3 Hall of Fame teams attending CMP will not count against the above allocations, but a MAR team winning a slot at an outside regional will count gfainst our total.

With two new regions- New England and Pacific Northwest- joining MAR and Michigan in District Play, FIRST has established a new Point Ranking System that will apply to all districts.  Changes from the 2013 MAR Point Ranking System include a one-time point allowance for rookie and second-year teams; award points for Chairman’s and Engineering Inspiration Award winners, and uniform points for all 3 teams on alliances advancing past quarterfinals.  Full details can be found on the Districts Standard Point Ranking System document.

MAR results for Hatboro-Horsham and Mt. Olive, as well as MAR Cumulative Week 1 rankings, are posted on the rankings page.  Results in subsequent weeks will be posted no later than the Monday following events.
